Comprehensive Housing Master Plan + Update

Hanbury has worked with Louisiana State University for over a decade initially developing the 2001 Housing Master Plan. The goals of that initial plan included understanding students’ housing needs and preferences, identifying opportunities to improve the current residence halls and build new ones, and developing a plan for Residential Life supporting academic success, transition to college life, and enrollment growth. The process included a web-based student survey with 2,500 respondents, an exploration of ideas for new living-learning programs, plans to renovate each residence hall, and a 15-year action plan to balance LSU’s goals and financial realities. Since that time Hanbury has updated the plan two times in 2008 and then again in 2013 and designed over 1,200 beds for their first year residential college program and renovated an existing residence hall and dining facility representing a capital investment of more than $270 million.
