An Liu's long-time mentor Camden Whitehead advised him to "bite off less, chew more." Accordingly, An embraces each phase of architectural design as a multi-course meal to be savored. Like in life, each course adds an important dimension. In design, the layers add complexity and, with each, another opportunity to explore ways to build community by increasing connections – within the individual, with others, and with the planet we all share. It's essential to find joy in each layer of design – too many desserts will ruin the meal.
